2020 Census Informational Mtg - Let's Help Boost Participation

The census count determines distribution of public funds, allocation of representation in law making bodies, and so much more. Yet in the last census our neighborhood had about 68% participation; the City about 62% and some Brooklyn neighborhoods under 50% (compared to a national average of 75%). We lost two seats in the House of Representatives, as one example of the impact. This year both City and Federal governments are making an all out push to overcome fear and inertia. There are many organizations recruiting help in spreading the word and encouraging participation, particularly in under counted neighborhoods. Come learn how you can help as a volunteer.
If you are interested in part time (10 hours a week and up), temporary jobs as an enumerator or other things, paying $25-$28 an hour, apply now at 2020census.gov/jobs."
