History Hour with Bill Miller:
About this event
History Hour with Bill Miller
The 4th Wednesday of the month at 5:00pm
The premise of "History Hour" is that participants will become familiar with the major events and trends in a specific year or decade, so that they have a sense of what it might be like to have lived during that time. Participants will choose a subject of interest to them and be prepared to talk about it to the group.
This month, the year is 1919. Topics to research might include the flu epidemic, race riots, art, literature, scientific developments, social and economic issues, and politics, including communism. The discussion will be led by GNPS member Bill Miller, who recently retired as a professor of History at Stonybrook University.
History Hour will be a monthly program held on the fourth Wednesday of the month, starting at 5.00 pm
