The full impact of China's Covid-19 disaster is just beginning to reveal itself to the outside world. Discussions will focus on global awareness of Covid-19's political, social, and economic challenges to China's pre-pandemic realities.
We will examine the subsequent state-controlled media's comprehensive damage-control and propaganda efforts that aim to avoid disruption of Xi's consolidation of power.
This will be a discussion group led by Larry Weiss.
GNPS member, Larry Weiss earned his Ph.D from Columbia with a specialization in Chinese Politics. His subsequent 40-year career of academic leadership at K-12 and undergraduate levels included teaching, research, and program development related to Contemporary China.
