Poetry Reading and Discussion with the Authors

Join distinguished poet Rebecca McClanahan and
GNPS member and poet Margaret Kogan
for an hour of reading and conversation about poetry and their new books.

Rebecca will read from 'Light Falls on Everything,' published March 31, 2026,
and Margaret will read from 'No Witnesses,' published March 23, 2026.

“Light Falls on Everything: A Daughter’s Memoir of Caregiving, Grief, and Possibility,” is Rebecca McClanahan’s 12th book. She has been published in "Best American Poetry" and "Kenyon Review," among many other prestigious publications, and has received many awards, among them two Pushcart Prizes and a MacDowell Colony fellowship. Rebecca currently teaches nonfiction and poetry in the MFA program at Queens University in North Carolina.

GNPS member Margaret Kogan had the good fortune to study poetry with Rebecca McClanahan at the Hudson Valley Writers Center. Margaret’s first book, “Motherland,” about her mother’s decline and death, was published last October. Her next book, “No Witnesses,” is quite different from her first, a lot of it quirky poems about animals. “No Witnesses” was published in March and is dedicated to Rebecca.

Margaret's books are available to purchase from Amazon
Rebecca's books available from University of North Carolina Press
