At this important site during the American Revolutionary War and the War of 1812,
we'll visit both the historic fort and the famous Prison Ship Martyrs' Monument.
We'll also explore the park's strong connection to poets and writers,
including Walt Whitman, one of its founders.
Marianne Moore's nature poetry was often inspired by its landscape.
Richard Wright wrote 'Native Son' in the park.
The beautiful 30-acre site was designed by Olmsted and Vaux.
Led by the NY Park Rangers, the tour will last about 90 minutes.
The park has a hill and some stairs.
Please Note: This is a 90 minute walking tour.
