Introduction To Tai Chi For Strength And Balance

Free Introductory Class - Tai Chi for Strength and Balance

Falls are a leading cause of injury among older adults.  The low impact, gentle movements of tai chi have been described by the Mayo Clinic as reducing “the risk of falls by improving strength, balance, coordination and flexibility.”  Additionally, a special health report from Harvard Medical School credits tai chi with helping “reduce age-related cognitive decline.” It also considers tai chi incredibly safe – “even for people who are older and have chronic diseases.”

A six-session class designed specifically for older adults, Tai Chi for Strength and Balance, is now being offered at Qi Tao studio in Park Slope.  Two free places in each of the five remaining sessions are being made available exclusively for members of Good Neighbors of Park Slope
You may sign up for one introductory class  on the GNPS calendar.

The instructor, Sifu Tzyann Hsu, (tai chi master) brings more than two decades of working with older people in Park Slope to improve balance and leg strength and to engage mental focus through tai chi.   The class size is very small to allow for individual attention and a class format which can adapt to individual challenges.

If you have been curious about tai chi, this is a unique opportunity to see if it can work for you.

Good Neighbors of Park Slope does not promote, advertise or endorse other organizations or private businesses. However we do sometimes partner with local businesses who want to share their expertise or present information to our members.
