An Equity Staged Reading of a new play produced by GNPS members, Josie Williams** and James Williams** and written by GNPS member Rob Belchere**.
The play deals with growing old in New York City amid the crisis of addicted women exchanging sexual favors for illicit prescriptions with unscrupulous therapists who prey upon addicted women.
The 3 elderly characters who meet daily in a NYC park spending their time passing their lonely hours. Death of Spouses and Significant Others, betrayal and dark secrets bring these aging seniors together in a desperate longing for companionship and meaning.
It is a snapshot of growing old in a world in which the aging are forgotten and invisible. It is a story of longing, and of happiness, of a demand for respect from a world that ignores them. It is a story of the human spirit yearning to break free, to become “Unchained.”
Starring Anne Bobby, Elizabeth Bove*, Robin Brenner*, Chris Carlson, Steve Gettinger, Matthew Hayes, Sean Kaminsky, Peter Levine*, Coleen O’Conner, Tamyko Vassel
*Member of Actors’ Equity Association. AEA Staged Reading.
