Hospital for Special Surgery

and member of Good Neighbors of Park Slope

Key nutrients for optimal health, including calcium, vitamin D, fiber and protein, as well as specific health concerns of older adults that are impacted by nutrition are reviewed. These concerns include dehydration, weight management, hypertension, high cholesterol, osteoporosis, arthritis and reflux, which are discussed and healthy options are explained.  


   Joan Altman has been a registered nurse for more than 35 years and in her current role at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
She has made frequent presentations on this and other topics.
