Civil War and Reconstruction-Yale lecture series
Sundays at 4pm
led by GNPS member Sharon Peters
A discussion of Civil War and Reconstruction based on an online Yale course taught by historian Professor David Blight in 2008-09.
Our meetings will discuss the course, a series of 27 lectures, offered to the public on the Yale website.
Professor Blight is a professor of history at Yale and a renowned scholar on the study of slavery, resistance and abolition. He offers a comprehensive, compelling and often eloquent history of the period before, during and after the Civil War. A time in our past that is still relevant today,.
In our weekly meetings we will discuss 1-2 of the 27 lectures.
Here are the links to the lectures we’ll discuss on the 28th.
