This is a repeat of the June 12 walking tour. Walking tour of Five Points, Chinatown and Discussion on Immigration By GNPS Member Bill Kahn Bill will give the "big picture" of the different waves of Irish, Italian, and Chinese immigration. Starting from Canal St, we will head north on Mulberry, then south on Mott Street, highlighting the history of Little Italy and admire (shop?) the open-air Chinatown food stalls. We will head towards Columbus Park for a discussion of Chinatown history. We'll stop at the actual site of the Five Points for a discussion of the early New York history, Irish immigration, and the "Gangs of New York", both real and in film. Depending upon time and if people wish, we can add on "Law and Order" in Foley Square and the African Burial Ground. We then have lunch at an "old-school" Chinatown dining hall, Jing Fong. Please note the 10:30am meet up time
