Dentistry: Something to get your teeth into! GNPS is fortunate that one of our members, Charles Walowitz, is a highly trained and experienced dentist who has specialized in maxillofacial prosthodontics. Charles will discuss general questions about dentistry, philosophy, pulp fiction - anything you want to get your teeth into! Why your grandchildren should become dentists, dental specialties, interacting with dental staff, fees, complications, “shopping dentists” changing dental offices, etc! In other words, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth! Please come with your questions!
About Charles: I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with my DDS in 1962. Whilst a Regular US Army officer I completed a multi-year residency at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver. I also trained in Maxillofacial prosthodontics and rehabilitation at the Navy Hospital in Washington DC. I practiced in Baltimore, MD for over 50 years and was chief of the Department of Dentistry at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. During that period I was the only Board Certified Maxillofacial Prosthodonntist in the State of Maryland. I was one of the five originating medical staff of the Milton J. Dance Head and Neck Cancer Center and served on that team until my retirement. Subsequently I have been on the staff at the Brooklyn VA Hospital.
